Looking for Abraham Lincoln in Kansas - with Bill Stumpff

Abraham Lincoln traveled to Leavenworth, Kansas in December 1859 while campaigning for presidency. While visiting downtown Leavenworth, Lincoln spoke to the masses about Kansas’s role in the Union and the issue of slavery. Join us as we learn about Lincoln’s one and only trip to Kansas. After the presentation, visit the museum’s galleries to view the carriage that Lincoln rode in on his journey to Leavenworth.

About our Presenter: Mr. Bill Stumpff is retired and he and his wife travel and visit museums. They take their grandchildren to as many museums as they can. He volunteers at the Combat Air Museum in Topeka and is one of three co-presidents of the Lincoln Club of Topeka.

Join us for light refreshments at 10:30 am followed by the presentation at 11:00 am.
